04/23/2017 Amazing Riad!Gianluca - London, GB

We stayed me and my gf for just one night we had superior double room and it was the best room ever!! Great welcoming, beautiful riad very close to the medina, top breakfast with fresh omelette too Would definitely book it again and again and again Thanks a lot for the service provided!

04/21/2017 Excellent location in Fes with great service

Beautiful riad which was very conveniently located in Fes-el-Bali. Just a few steps away from one of the main shopping streets, but quite tucked away from the busy-ness. As other people on this site have commented, the staff were really helpful – in every way. We had to leave at the ridiculous time of 3.45am but Jaffer arranged the taxi for us and then also got up to see us off with a bag of snacks for our journey! I would definitely recommend this Riad.

04/16/2017 Close to the Medina, great place to stay!

My wife and I stayed for a week whilst visiting Fes. The Riad is in a nice location very close to the Medina, and maybe a ten minute walk from the Blue Gate.
We stayed in the junior suite, which had an ensuite, double bed and 2 singles in the loft. The shower does not have a screen or curtain so the floor can get a bit wet, but the sun quickly helped to dry it.
We ate breakfast at the Riad every day as it was included, and it was a good sampling of a typical Moroccan breakfast, with some eggs, alternating varieties of breads and traditional pancakes, fruit, yogurt and coffee. Often we could not finish it all.
We tried the cooking lesson with Fatima and Jafar – definitely a great experience, and then we got to eat it!
The staff were helpful when asking for advice on what to see/visit, and booking taxis/cars. They can speak English and French.
The terrace on the roof or the Riad have amazing views over the old city.
I would stay here again.

04/15/2017 A perfect place to stay in Fes

This was our first experience with Riad and it was awesome..
– I must say the service is outstanding, Jaffer & his younger colleague were exceptionally helpful in every way from check-in to information about Medina till check-out they make sure that guest is comfortable in every possible manner.

– The Riad is beautifully decorated, the my favourite part of the property was the open courtyard cum lobby, it is peaceful n full of good energy.
It has the Best location in terms of access, view and proximity to the most attractions in old Medina.

04/01/2017 Fantastic Moroccan architecture

We had an excellent stay at Riad Layalina and the staff were excellent right from the minute we got there. Would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Fes. It is located extremely close to the Medina and easy to get in and out of the Souk.

03/14/2017 Hidden Gem- worth every Penny!

Not the easiest to find, but call ahead and the Riad will send someone to meet you.

We were met with incredible hospitality and were provided not just a warm greeting but delicious mint team and lovely Moroccan food as they knew we had been traveling all day. The Riad is very peaceful and quiet, and decorated beautifully. They also have a great WIFI connection, allowing us to connect with family and friends.
The room was BEAUTIFUL, COMFORTABLE, and quiet with great views of the central courtyard. We enjoyed even more incredible views from the rootop terrace where you could see the entire Medina and the ancient ruins overlooking the city.

Jerome and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home and were well taken care of even preparing breakfast before normal hours since we had to leave early in morning to continue our journey.
On this trip we traveled all around Morocco, and this was our favorite Riad and we will definitely be staying her again!

02/22/2017 Best stay of our 10 days in Morocco

We were in Morocco for 10 days, 3 of which were spent at Riad Layalina Fez. It was by far the best 3 days of our trip. The breakfasts were DELICIOUS and HUGE, and the view from our room was spectacular. Since we’d traveled up from Marrakech, we had a car and the hotel has very safe, convenient & accessible parking – a huge plus for the cities in Morocco (good luck trying to find a place in the Medina with parking). We arrived much later than expected, but Jerome & staff were ready with a hot meal & sweet mint tea. It was lovingly prepared & well appreciated!! All in all, 5 huge stars — we highly recommend it and hope to return on our next trip to crazy Fez.

02/12/2017 So good, we went back

There were many practical reasons why we chose to stay at Layalina, mainly because we were driving and they have a private car park, yet the location is still on the edge of the medina making all the main sites walkable. The hosts were wonderful and we were treated with a tagine and mint tea on arrival which was the best welcome gift after our long journey. We loved our room and our huge breakfast on the terrace. Couldn’t recommend them more.

02/07/2017 Beautiful Riad in an excellent location!

We so enjoyed this jewel of a hotel. Close walking distance to the hustle and bustle but far enough away for it to be peaceful. Sa’id and Jafar looked after us extremely well serving up a free breakfast fit for kings. The Wifi is super fast, nice hot showers and beautiful decor throughout!

01/24/2017 Excellent location if driving. And excellent food!

This was a great riad with private parking close to the gate of the medina. It is very close to one of the access points to get on top of the old medina walls. The small window out of the shower looks out over the medina walls. The souk is 2 minutes away from the front door by walking. We had the superior double room with king bed and it was a large room. The mattress was pretty stiff like I like it and the frame of the bed is built into the floor so it doesn’t squeak at all. Several of the employees speak at least a little english.

Breakfast was good and the mandarins here were the best mandarins we had in all of Morocco. The Tajine dinner is enormous and tasty…two people can’t finish it, try as we might. We also did the cooking tour and class where you go to the souk to see and sample the ingrediants being bought and learn to make Tajine later. The hotel guide was great and also helped us find our way to a little art gallery to find a painting. The class was informative (and we learned we’ll never take the time to cook Tajine at home) but the cook doesn’t speak English. We lucked out though that the manager’s wife (who is American) was able to come by and translate for us.

You will need to have euros or Dirham for the room, tours, and cooking class. Email the riad after you book and they will send you good detailed instructions for how to find them. We stayed right before Christmas 2016.
